Lending & Credit Abuses
- Credit Cards
Credit cards can be a great convenience – and a source of endless headaches. Abuses by card issuers can start with that first unsolicited envelope that arrives in the mailbox. Maybe the card is advertised as having “no annual fee," but once a consumer is using the card for purchases, there is a fee, but it goes by some other name. There have also been instances where card issuers have changed the form of a card without the cardholder’s consent, and where card issuers impose charges that are not authorized by the card agreement.
The attorneys at Michael P. Malakoff have extensive experience representing cardholders, including those where consumers were charged excessive or unwarranted fees, penalties, fines, and interest rates.
